Watching this video of Hillary Clinton being subjected to some of the most sexist questions from reporters, some of those fellow women I might add, is enough to make one want to burn every bra in the drawer –
even the sexy ones especially the sexy ones.
No matter your view on Hillary Clinton, one thing that simply can’t be taken away is the fact that she is an extremely intelligent, well-educated, strong woman. She earned that. Nothing shines light on how much she has earned that more than this compilation of media clips. Imagine the frustration of working on such serious issues as children’s healthcare, the lagging education system, women’s rights or securing healthcare for ground zero responders but being asked about how people perceive you as a strong woman or worse, table cloth colors. No seriously, she was asked that.
In 1993, Clinton was working on the children’s healthcare plan – pretty important stuff. The same year she was also asked this question in an interview:
Do you like doing stuff, Hillary, like saying ‘I’d like that yellow tablecloth with the red napkins’ for whatever and looking at the centerpiece and things like that? Is that fun to you?
Two years later she addressed the delegates of 180 countries in United Nations where she said this famous quote:
If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights, once and for all.
Take a look this video of actual questions asked by the media to Hillary Clinton and then ask yourself, would they ask a man these same questions?
