Stephen L. Anderson, a preacher at Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona — a church that is listed as a hate group by Southern Poverty Law Center — condemned the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris in his sermon on Sunday. Because, obviously the murder victims would be to blame for religious extremists choosing to kill them.
You know, there’s something about when you go to a concert of death metal, somebody might get killed! You know, you’re worshipping death! And then, all of a sudden people start dying. ‘Oh wait a minute, what’s going on?’ Well, you love death so much. You bought the ticket. You love worshipping satan! Well, let’s have some of satan’s religion come in and shoot you! I mean, that’s what these people should think about before they go to such a wicked concert.
It is clear to anyone who has heard a single song by Eagles of Death Metal, or has the ability of conscious thought, that this preacher is very, very misguided. Not that listening to death metal would ever constitute the willingness of participation in a massacre, but this band isn’t even a death metal band. They play folky, rock, blue-ish music. He thinks he knows an awful lot about them, though, saying:
Nobody should be at a concert worshipping Satan with this drug pushing hillbilly f*ggot.
He then goes on about how sinful the French are, sounding eerily similar to accusations often made by the religious extremists of the Middle East. And, in perfect timing the congregation of his own religious extremists mutter sounds of agreement.
Of course, for those that are familiar with this hate group, these words likely come as little surprise. Last year the “preacher” called for the “biblical execution” of homosexuals to rid the world of AIDS.
