Donald Trump visited an African American church in Detroit on Saturday and it was a disaster from start to finish. Even his
token buddy Ben Carson couldn’t manage to pull off a simple TV interview without completely f*cking it up. In the middle of a live interview, Carson starts mumbling about his luggage and then just wanders off.
Carson was speaking with CNN’s Jeremy Diamond in front of his childhood home. Things were going fairly okay at first. Carson rambled on about growing up in Detroit and serving as a tour guide so that Trump could see the city.
“We just saw Mr. Trump here and I asked him how did it go and he said ‘Great.’ He said he learned a lot of things. What do you think he took away from today?” Diamond asked Carson.
Then, right smack dab in the middle of the interview, Carson says, “Oh! My luggage!” and wanders away from the cameras.
Diamond was a bit taken aback and his colleague in the studio was visibly struggling to hold back her laughter at the absurdity of what Carson had just done. However, Diamond managed to ad lib until Carson eventually meandered back over to him and they continued as if he hadn’t just walked away from a nationally televised live interview.
