Google said it was coming. They tweeted a hint yesterday while telling people to choose their side, which we now know refers to people selecting “light side” or “dark side” to skin their browsers and Android devices for a “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” promotion.

Wired said of the promo:
“Yesterday, Google announced ‘Choose Your Side,’ a promotional campaign that allowed users to skin their many Google apps with Star Wars-themed visuals. The results are best integrated with Android Wear Watches, Google Calendar, Chrome, Chromecast, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Now, Waze and YouTube—with features also appearing on Inbox by Gmail, Google Translate and Google Search. There’ll also be some VR experiences for Google Cardboard next week, and some other stuff. Fine. Great. Google is huge, Disney is huge, it all makes perfect sense.”
Yet, hidden in that promo tweet was the hint to what Google is calling “Star Wars Easter Eggs” hidden throughout the internet.
The Easter Egg?
Google the phrase “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away” and see what happens.
Here, let me Google that for you. Just make sure you have the volume turned down!
