Realities USA is a progressive Political Action Committee which was formed specifically to take down Donald Trump — and they are very serious about it.
To this end, they have initiated an ad campaign designed to highlight how dangerous Trump really is, especially his views on immigration. Their first ad is entitled The Syrian Boy and is aimed at Trump’s stance on Syrian refugees. It is very graphic and disturbing.
On their website, Realities USA lays it out:
As we see Donald Trump’s campaign apparatus growing larger by the minute we’ve decided that it is time for an all out assault to expose his xenophobia, bigotry and intolerance and to permanently ruin his brand name for all but the most radical members of the electorate. To accomplish this we are currently in the process of producing a variety of attack ads of different lengths that will force all Americans to confront the true horrors that a Trump administration would wreak upon this nation and the world.
Last month, Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the US would take in almost 200,000 refugees in the next two years, many — but not all — of whom would be Syrian. These refugees would have to go through the United Nations to receive references and then be screened by Homeland Security before they can enter the country.
Yet Trump, displaying his usual xenophobia, said that he would send them all back if he were elected. Misunderstanding Kerry’s statement and showing that he’s really not paying attention, he said in a speech in New Hampshire on October 2nd:
If I win, they’re going back… Did you ever see a migration like that? They’re all men, and they’re all strong-looking guys…and I’m saying to myself, why aren’t they fighting to save Syria? Why are they migrating all over Europe? Seriously…I hear we want to take in two hundred thousand Syrians… These refugees would have no identification. They could be anyone. They could be ISIS, I don’t know.
That rambling bit of rhetoric shows exactly why Trump is so dangerous on immigration. His conjecture and willingness to assume the worst about everyone displays a sociopathic distrust of “the others.”
On Face The Nation Sunday, Trump said that the refugees look like “prime time soldiers” and wondered where the women and children were. Apparently Trump is unable to do a simple Google to find out that slightly more than half of the refugees are female. He said unequivocally that he doesn’t want “these people coming over here.”
Realities USA wants everyone to know about Trump’s “dangerous political machinations” and to get angry about it. They wish to expose Trump’s brutal agenda for this country. They assert — and rightly so — that Trump is no longer funny. It’s not amusing anymore to watch his ridiculous speeches, full of red meat for the very fringe of the right.
The first ad from Realities USA shows that they are willing to pull no punches when it comes to exposing Donald Trump as a bigot. This ad needs to be spread all over social media and go viral. Let’s show that Donald Trump’s candidacy is no longer viable.
Warning: This video contains some VERY disturbing images. Seriously.
