This Racist Facebook Post Ended Up Getting A Whole Bunch Of People Fired (SCREENCAPS)

Things got ugly fast after a guy named Gerod Roth (aka Gerod Hilton) decided he was going to post a photo to Facebook. It went from bad to worse when his friends thought it would be wise to comment on this photo and show how racist they all are. Little did they know, this one single Facebook post was about to get some of them fired, because the post would go viral. Oops!

You see, Roth worked (notice the past tense) for Polaris Marketing Group, but once they were made aware of this racist post, he was terminated.  To make matters worse, the photo in question was of himself and a black child behind him. The black child? Yeah, it was the son of a co-worker.

Here’s the post and all of its terrible comments (not posting the child’s full face out of respect for the child and his family):

Real classy folks right there.

This is what Polaris Market Group posted in regards to Roth’s post:

This morning I was disgusted to learn that one of my former employees made several racially charged comments on his personal Facebook page. Even worse, the comments were directed toward the son of another employee.

It breaks my heart that Sydney and her adorable son Cayden were subjected to such hateful, ignorant and despicable behavior. Cayden visits my office almost every afternoon after daycare, he’s sat at my dinner table and I consider him a part of the PMG family.

Alongside Roth’s arrest, it was reported that one of the commenters was also let go:

It would appear The Conch Republic Grill doesn’t want their food served with a side of hate. Good for them!

What does all of this go to show? There are consequences to your actions, even if you think your social media accounts are somehow immune to your stupid, racist antics. Maybe this will be a lesson to all the other racist idiots out there.
