Many individuals have been heaping praise on South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley, for her less than completely disastrous State of the Union response to President Obama.
During her recital of the speech that was clearly written for her by someone else, Haley came out against the explosive racism and bigotry that has, and always will be a part of the Republican party. Without naming names (Trump), she made a big deal out of saying that Republicans can’t give in to the hate and bigotry of their party’s extremists.
As a general rule, any time a Republican says that racism, bigotry or general hate is bad, it means they don’t actually believe that, and are reading from a script.
Haley got a lot of temporary praise for sounding like a comparatively sensible person among the 2016 clown cavalcade, but her praise was premature. Almost immediately after being declared the new crown jewel of the Republican party, Nikki Haley proved she is just another know-nothing token member that was allowed into their midst.
Haley was speaking at an education event the following the State of the Union on Wednesday, where she said something that was so incredibly ignorant, words fail to describe it:
We’ve never, in the history of this country, passed any laws or done anything based on race or religion.
What.. the.. fu……
Yes, an elected governor of a former slave state and birthplace of the Confederacy, thinks that the United States of America never made laws or has “done anything” based on race or religion. What more can possibly be said about that statement, which it doesn’t already say for itself?
Another wacky aspect of this is that the statement was a follow-up to a racist and bigoted statement by Haley about refusing Syrian refugees, where she said, “we don’t want them, we can’t afford to take that risk.”
Here's the context of that Nikki Haley quote (Spoiler: it still doesn't make sense) pic.twitter.com/3tybtL59iS

The response on Twitter was as you would expect:
— Ben Norton (@BenjaminNorton) January 13, 2016
— maria lia calvo (@MariaLiaCalvo) January 14, 2016
— Pete in Florida (@stpete2you) January 13, 2016
Republicans have a serious problem where they keep finding the most ignorant know-nothing they can who happens to fit into a convenient demographic, feeding them a pre-written statement or two, then turning them loose onto the media. When will they figure out that these people will eventually have to go off-script? Never passed laws based on race – ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?
