Brace yourselves folks! Conservatives just got some news that isn’t bad but that they interpret as bad because they are dumber than a box of Palins — a park is being named after Harriet Tubman.
“Baltimore’s Democrat Mayor, Catherine Pugh, has once again eliminated Confederate history under cover of night,” white supremacist hate rag Breitbart “News” complained in a Facebook post featuring the revelation that not only had Confederate statues (including the author of the “Dred Scott Decision” that assured that slaves remained property) been removed but that the section of the park that housed them had been renamed “Harriet Tubman Grove.”
It’s easy to see why conservatives hate Tubman: She escaped from slavery and went on to lead other African-American slaves to safety in free states and Canada. That sort of lawbreaking is viewed as a negative among those whose family trees more closely resemble chopsticks than actual trees.
But this is 2018 and the GOP says racism doesn’t exist anymore, so we can almost assuredly expect a perfectly civil response from the so-called “Deplorables” that doesn’t serve as evidence that they deserve that label. Right? Right?
Apparently not. As we have come to expect, “not-racists” swarmed Breitbart’s comment section to share their not-so-educated “thoughts” on the matter:
Welcome to Trump’s America, where these clearly irredeemable people feel free to spout this garbage.
