He can deny it all he wants, but it’s pretty well-known that Donald Trump has been running a Fascist-like presidential campaign who has won over the hearts and minds of many a white, angry bigot. Indeed, he’s like Mussolini but with really bad hair but the fact of the matter is that Trump has always been tossing out coded racism and playing to right-wing paranoia. Case in point, birtherism.
Trump always says that he has no interest in discussing birtherism anymore, but we could care less what Trump says. Moreover, it’s the duty of any self-respecting citizen to constantly remind the not-always-so-bright voting public about how Trump started winning over right-wing racists. Throughout 2011 and 2012, the media wanted you to think that birtherism–butthurt Republicans claiming Obama was born in Kenya–was dead. But right-wing blog comments sections begged to differ.
Trump, forever a manipulator of morons and a cynical marketing king, clearly saw that birtherism was alive and well. Thus, Trump worked endlessly to exploit deranged, bigoted people and started building a base of conspiracy-minded followers. Moreover, a bunch of screaming white crazies that have catapulted him to the Republican nomination for president of the United States.
Here’s Trump appearing on the O’Reilly Factor in 2011, which is precisely when he consolidated his credentials with right-wing bigots:[ad3media campaign=”105″ youtube=”71q0D-Qsjsg”]
