WATCH: Harry Reid Won’t Run For Re-election, Tells McConnell ‘Don’t Be Too Elated’ (VIDEO)

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid announced with a Facebook video that he won’t be seeking re-election when his term is up.

He made specific mention of Mitch McConnell, saying:

My friend Senator McConnell, don’t be too elated.  I’m going to be here for 22 months, and you know what I’m going to be doing?  The same thing I’ve done since I first came to the Senate.

The heart-warming video released by Sen. Reid explains his reasons for his decision and gives the people of Nevada, and the nation, even more reason to love and respect him for the good he’s done over the years:

We have to make sure that the democrats take control of the Senate again.  And I feel for me, it is inappropriate to soak up all those resources on me when I can be devoting those resources to the caucus, and that’s what I intend to do.

Thank you for your service, Senator.  You will be missed.
