Recently on CNN, Donald Trump Jr. got a little hot under the collar when Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, accused his dad’s campaign of getting help from the Russians.
The accusation followed the release of leaked Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails likely released by Russian hackers that appear to show the DNC actively trying to undermine Bernie Sanders during the primary contests.
Trump, naturally, jumped on the emails – ignoring the disturbing implications of a foreign government hacking a U.S. political party’s emails, and instead relishing the chance to smear the DNC.
Mook called him on it:
What’s disturbing to us is that experts are telling us that Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole these emails, and other experts are now saying that the Russians are releasing these emails for the purpose of actually helping Donald Trump,” Mook said. “I don’t think it’s coincidental that these emails were released on the eve of our convention here… I think we also need to be concerned that we also saw last week at the Republican convention that Trump and his allies made changes to the Republican platform to make it more pro-Russian.
Trump Jr. dismissed Mook’s allegations equating them to a house cat hearing rumors.
It’s disgusting, it’s so phony,” he said, growing heated. “I watched them bumbled through the interview, I was able to hear it on audio a little bit. I can’t think of bigger lies, but that exactly goes to show you what the DNC and what the Clinton camp will do.
Trump Jr. then switched his scripted attack to focus on disenchanted Bernie Sanders voters, hoping to lure them over to his dad by appealing to their “F the system” sensibilities.
“It’s a rigged system, it’s disgusting, and the people should be fed up, cause when I heard it I certainly was,” Trump Jr. said. “I don’t mind a fair fight, but these lies and the perpetuating of that kind of nonsense to try to gain some political capital is just outrageous, and he should be ashamed of himself.”
The billionaires son went on to whine about the so-called “liberal media double standard.”

If a Republican did that they’d be calling for people to bring out the electric chair.”
The DNC emails don’t represent the first time that Donald Trump has been accused of being too cozy with the Russians.
Recently, niceRussian President/Dictator Vladimir Putin’s said some kind things to say about Trump.
[Donald Trump is] a really brilliant and talented person, without any doubt,” [Vladimir] Putin told reporters, according to a translation by Interfax. “It’s not our job to judge his qualities, that’s a job for American voters, but he’s the absolute leader in the presidential race.” […]
“He says he wants to move on to a new, more substantial relationship, a deeper relationship with Russia, how can we not welcome that?” he said. “Of course, we welcome that.
Never one to turn away from flattery, Trump let Putin know that the admiration was mutual.
He’s [Putin] running his country and at least he’s a leader, unlike what we have in this country,” Trump said when asked by “Morning Joe” Republican host Joe Scarborough about Putin’s alleged killing of journalists and political opponents.“I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so you know. There’s a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, a lot of killing, a lot of stupidity,” he said. Finally, when asked whether he would condemn Putin’s alleged brutal tactics, Trump responded: “Sure, absolutely.
There’s also this report from the Washington Post highlighting Trump’s very close financial relationship with the Putin regime, in which Trump Jr. also plays a huge role.
Since the 1980s, Trump and his family members have made numerous trips to Moscow in search of business opportunities, and they have relied on Russian investors to buy their properties around the world.
“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump’s son, Donald Jr., told a real estate conference in 2008, according to an account posted on the website of eTurboNews, a trade publication. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.
But Trump Jr’s right, how dare anybody suggest that the Russians are actively helping his father? That’s just crazy talk. Right?
