Harold Bornstein is in the Trumpian limelight after the orange contender has continually whined for Hillary to release every detail contained in her health records. With a level of hypocrisy we’ve come to expect, these cries come months after the Trump camp released an odd letter regarding the 70-year-old’s health from a doctor who has a writing style oddly similar to Trump’s.
Naturally, late night comedy couldn’t resist this low hanging fruit, this manna from the gods (or goddesses). Stephen Colbert immediately jumped on the fact that while demanding full medical records from Hillary Clinton, Trump gave us a one-page doctor’s note:
“A note from his doctor should be enough, it’s how he got out of Vietnam.”
And, the jokes just kept coming. Bornstein told NBC News that he rushed while writing the letter as someone waited in a car outside his office for it. Colbert joked:
“Rushed. Anxious. Five minutes. Driver waiting. You definitely want the candidate’s physical to sound like losing your virginity on prom night.”
Just like that, in about the same time it took Bornstein to write about Trump’s extraordinary health, Colbert owned it.
