This past Saturday at the Republican Primary debate, reality TV charlatan and all around bully Donald Trump said he would “bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding” when dealing with our enemies; a political stance that falls even to the far right of such war hawks as John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
After much scrutiny for his “Waterboarding Comment,” Trump felt the need to double down on his controversial statement this past Sunday during an interview on CNN, with host Jake Tapper.
During the interview, Tapper pressed Trump on his position and asked the candidate how he could justify using simulated drowning techniques when it has been in fact classified as a war crime. Trump answered in typical Trump fashion, don’t like a rule, change it,
I would go through a process and get it declassified.
Trump went on to justify his appalling position of using torture by adding:
They’re chopping off heads of Christians and many other people in the Middle East.
As the campaign roars on, it seems that Donald Trump has figured out the time tested Republican strategy of using fear mongering to get good people to agree to the heinous actions in the name of security.
