‘Sorry ‘Bout That Bernie!’ Lindsey Graham Fake Shoots Bernie Sanders On MSNBC

If this Southern Bell isn’t the exemplar of class and grace, I don’t know who is!

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) went on MSNBC to teach Kacie Hunt how to skeet shoot. Yeehaw!

Early in the segment, Graham talks about how he’s not a morning person with Hunt. The the cameras go back to the shooting range where Graham urges the skeet operator to do a “Bernie Sanders”:

GRAHAM: “I’m gonna get you motivated to want to kill the clay pigeon…”

GRAHAM: “Alright, do a Bernie Sanders.”

GRAHAM: “Pull!”

GRAHAM: “Sorry about that, Bernie!”

How hilarious! Sen. Graham is running for President of the United States and is fake shooting his competition, because he’s the classiest guy in the race. Obviously.

Before Hunt stepped up to shoot some clay pigeons, Graham tells her she has to ‘hate the pigeons’. She shoots, she misses. The clip basically sucks and is just Graham sucking up to gun owners showing them how much he just loves the Second Amendment.

Graham says:

It’s about leading the pigeon. It’s about staying out in front enough, but not too much. That’s what politics is like.

Perhaps, Graham is fake shooting Sanders because Sanders absolutely eviscerated him on CNN’s Crossfire a couple years ago on the topic of Obamacare.

The clip opens up where Sanders is going through America’s litany of issues — tax loopholes for billionaires, jobs disappearing, stagnant wages, one out four corporations doesn’t pay taxes, etc.; Sanders is talking about the problems the Senate needs to find the solution to.

Lindsey Graham jumps in to say:

Bernie, if I was willing to flatten the tax code and take deductions away from the wealthy and pay down debt, would you reform entitlements by extending the age based on the fact we’re all living like Strom Thurmond?

And Sanders immediately says:

Absolutely not. Not at a moment when we have so much income [inequality].

Graham chuckles and says:

Okay, well that was a moment of bipartisanship that quickly passed.

Graham was basically talking about extending the retirement age on social security (something Conservatives so desperately want to do) and also cut back on funding for government assistance.

Sanders then asks his own question on bipartisanship:

Okay, let me ask you bipartisan. At a time when the top one percent hold 38 percent of the wealth in America and the bottom 60 percent own all of 2.3 percent will you work with me to ask the wealthy to start paying their fair of taxes?

Graham then explains to Bernie that America will go bankrupt if America doesn’t reform entitlements and ignores the tax issue that he very well knows exists but refuses to acknowledge. By entitlements, Graham means the money Americans paid their entire working lives to have something to live on after they reach retirement age. Graham asserts that money Americans pay, into a program based completely off of the hard earned money from people’s paychecks will bankrupt the country if older Americans continue to take this money. Der.

Sanders replies:

I think that’s a bad idea.
