Senator McCain: Bernie Sanders Has A ‘Better Record’ With Veterans

Old Johnny Walnuts McCain is a real fickle pickle: one moment he’s playing Benghazi bingo and taking selfies with terrorists, the next moment he’s saying sensible things. But what’s really odd– and kind of  infuriating– is how the longtime senator can criticize a severely deranged party he helped destroy when he picked Sarah Palin as his 2008 running mate. Maybe he needs a nap or something. But when it comes to veterans, the Senator has mostly been very supportive and looking out for them.

Last night’s Democratic Debate was yet again irrefutable proof that one party is filled with adults, and then other is filled with people talking out their penis and hurling insults like school children. While poverty and race weighed prominently in last night’s debate between Hillary Clinton and Senator Sanders, veterans are also incredibly important as well. And when it comes to which Democratic candidate has the better experience with veterans, the answer is Bernie Sanders. Well, at least according to Senator McCain.

The fact is we were able to come together and pass legislation that was nearly unanimous in both the House and the Senate, so he does have a record of advocacy for our veterans, he said in response to a question about the candidates’ positions on veterans’ issues during a press call on Wednesday. My knowledge, I know of no activity, legislative or otherwise, that Hillary Clinton was engaged in during her time as a United States senator,” he added.

Indeed, Senator Sanders has been at the forefront of making sure that our troops are taken care of, after returning from making Republicans defense portfolios safer for democracy. And supporting “radical” issues before their cool and mainstream. For instance, Sanders was always an outspoken opponent of the policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” regarding gays in the military.

But, in reality, either one of our candidates would be infinitely better than any of the GOP’s candidates who will just send our soldiers off to war again.
