Obama SLAMS ‘Obstructionist’ Republicans During Press Conference About SCOTUS Nominee (VIDEO)

President Obama held a press conference on Tuesday to talk about Justice Antonin Scalia’s death and to let the American public know that he will not let Republicans cripple the highest court in the country.

Before Scalia’s body was even cold, Republicans declared that they would not approve anybody that Obama picked to replace him. Apparently, people like Senators Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell seem to believe that the president is only supposed to serve for three years. They keep saying things like,”The people should have a voice and Obama should let the NEXT president pick the newest justice!” We already had a voice, when we elected Barack Obama to serve as our president for two terms. That’s EIGHT years, not seven years.

During the press conference Obama addressed these statements by the imbeciles in the GOP and said:

This is the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land. It’s the one court where we would expect elected officials to rise above day-to-day politics. This will be the opportunity for Senators to do their job. Your job doesn’t stop until you are voted out or until your term expires.

He also took a dig at Republicans like Ted Cruz who carries a copy of the Constitution around the Senate but apparently has no idea what it says:

In the past, this has not been viewed as a question. There is no unwritten law that says it can only be done on off years. That’s not in the constitutional text. I’m amused to hear when people who claim to be strict interpreters of the Constitution, suddenly reading into it a whole series of provisions that are not there.

It is pretty hilarious that the “Party of the Constitution” lacks such a basic understanding of it. Of course, we have always suspected that they never read past the Second Amendment. It’s also hilarious that they have not learned yet that President Obama is sick of their bullsh*t. With his last year in office upon him, he damn sure isn’t going to allow far right crazies force the Supreme Court of the United States to grind to a halt.
