New Data Proves GOP Gov. Brownback Ruined Kansas With Republican Tax Cuts Myth

Kansas Republican Gov. Brownback’s disastrous Teabagger policies have caused irreparable damage to Kansas. Each and every election year, smug and disingenuous pr*cks like Brownback hoodwink low information voters (or Trump voters) into believing that tax cuts are the cure-all for America’s ailments. Like a carnival barker with Tourette’s, we’re constantly told that if we just give billionaires more money they will create limitless jobs.

New data, however, proves that Republican mantra to be nothing more than a myth.

Brownback’s economic police have reached idiocracy levels and people are taking notice. Kansas City Star opinion writer Yael Abouhalkah, a strident critic or Brownback’s dangerous governance, is highlighting new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that shows a huge disparity in job numbers between the Kansas and Missouri sides.

The data, in fact, are extremely discouraging for Brownback and the few remaining people who thought his tax cuts would act like a jobs magnet for the Sunflower State,” writes Abouhalkah. “The bottom line: Missouri gained employment almost five times faster than Kansas in the metro region over the full year from February 2015 to February 2016.

To illustrate this point even further, the Missouri side of the state line added 13,900 total jobs from February 2015 to February 2016, a local rate of 2.4 percent. Conversely,  the Kansas side added a measly 2,200 jobs, a rate of just 0.5 percent.

Like a kid he keeps putting his hand on the stove–learning absolutely nothing about the inherent dangers of doing so–Republicans like Gov. Brownback remain stubbornly disobedient in the face of overwhelming evidence. How many times do they have to hear about austerity measures making things much worse before they quit spouting debunked talking points?
