‘Christian’ Verbally Assaults Muslims Gathered For Religious Unity To End Violence (VIDEO)

After organizing the interfaith memorial service that was held after Nelson Mandela’s death, Reverend Gina Campbell, the director of religious liturgy at the Washington National Cathedral, worked with Muslim leaders to organize an interfaith gathering focused on countering religious extremist views. As usually happens, though, one heckler took it upon herself to show exactly why these gatherings are needed.

Muslims In The National Cathedral

The Nov. 14 service was put together by Reverend Campbell and South Africa’s ambassador to the United States (who is a Muslim) Ebrahim Rasool. Reverend Campbell declared that the National Cathedral was a place where everyone, regardless of faith, could worship. Ambassador Rasool then basically gave Muslims the responsibility of stopping attacks on Christians by saying:

If we do not stop them at the monasteries, they will make their way to the mosques.

This was the first time in history such a service had taken place, and hundreds of Muslims and others gathered for the occasion. The event unfortunately had to be closed to the public due to threats of violence that were made after the event was announced. I’m not 100% sure, but that doesn’t sound very Christian-like to me.

Heckler Takes Credit For Allowing Mosques In America

Right as someone was approaching the podium to speak, a white middle-aged woman stood up in the middle of the church and began shouting loudly enough to be heard over the intercom system in the cathedral. Her tirade started out like this:

Jesus Christ died on that cross over there. He is the reason why we are to worship only him. Jesus Christ is our lord and savior.

Okay, in normal circumstances, that statement wouldn’t be too bad. Of course, this woman decided to attack the Islamic faith while Muslims had gathered to take a stand against the extremism that’s causing less-informed individuals to think all of Islam is violent. Wait, isn’t that what Bob Beckel of Fox News said moderate Muslims need to do?

You moderate Muslims out there… the time has come for you to stand up and say something. I repeat what I said before — no Muslim students coming here with visas. No more mosques being built here, until you stand up and denounce what’s happened in the name of your prophet.

Ignoring how blatantly ignorant and bigoted this statement from Beckel was, these Muslims were doing EXACTLY what he said they should do. Yet a Christian woman still felt the need to attack their beliefs just because she didn’t agree with them. The absolute best part, though, is what the woman said near the end of her rant:

We have built… allowed you your mosques in this country. Why can’t you worship in your mosques and leave our churches alone?

Intolerance Of Islam More Important Than Following Bible

You read it here first, people. The woman in this video claims that we did Muslims a favor by letting them build their mosques in this country. That whole freedom of religion thing? That was only meant for Christians, obviously, and whenever we let anyone else practice that freedom by, I don’t know, building their own houses of worship, we’re basically just doing them a solid.

Hopefully you were able to catch the sarcasm in that last comment. The woman’s comments are sort of reminiscent of the young Cardinals fan who told Ferguson protestors that “We’re the ones who gave all y’all the freedoms that you have.” Newsflash people: You didn’t grant anyone freedom and you didn’t allow them to construct their religious buildings here. The Constitution pretty much says those should have always just been a given.

Oh, and please do forgive us in advance for the title of the video and the comments posted by its uneducated uploader. It seems that this time, a bigoted individual got the best camera angle on the occurring event. We’ll leave you with this verse from the Bible that maybe the woman in the video should have paid attention to:

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. (Romans 15:7)
