As with many in Hollywood, director Judd Apatow has political opinions. Social conservatives like to claim Apatow because he has made movies about keeping babies out of wedlock and of saving virginity. However, he once famously laid a truth bomb about rich people, and in particular, the Koch brothers:
Apatow said it was “ridiculous that anyone thinks that rich people care about other people. When the Koch brothers give a billion dollars, it is not out of a great concern for the masses.
So, what direction does the political wind blow for Apatow? Well, in June, Jeb Bush posted this:
On The Late Show, with Stephen Colbert, Apatow was even more enigmatic, sort of. In this video, he said he was publicly supporting Hillary Clinton, but he secretly likes Ben Carson, because he can relate, because Carson allegedly tried to stab a guy and tried to hit his mother with a hammer.
Clearly Apatow isn’t supporting Carson, but like many of us, Apatow is probably trying to figure out why stabbing a guy and trying to kill your mother is a good quality in a president.
