Proving once again that he lives in his own little world, Alex Jones took to the airwaves to rant about Bernie Sanders and those of us who support him. Like most right-wingers, Jones has trouble understanding the relatively simple concept of Democratic Socialism. He is certainly unaware that we live under a similar system right now.
On his InfoWars broadcast last week, Jones went off on a scenery-chewing tirade sure to warm the heart of every ignorant right-winger. Sanders, Jones opines, wants us to live in a socialist-communist system like in China. Apparently, Jones doesn’t quite get that socialism isn’t communism and, indeed, opposes communism. But, hey, if it’s not capitalism, it’s all the same to him.
Jones complains that Mao “killed over 80 million people.” Certainly, Mao’s Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution ended up being one of the worst genocides in modern history, but that has nothing to do with Democratic Socialism.
Jones claims that there are “liberal trendy places” in cities like Austin, Denver and San Francisco that are “named after Mao.” I did a Google search for every permutation I could think of and turned up no such establishments. Must be something that exists only in Jones’ world. The imaginary liberals who frequent these non-existent places “giggle about how fun it is to wear red stars.” He calls such fictional characters “stupid, snot-nosed crud.” It makes him angry that these make-believe beings “live off the backs of everybody that fought Nazism and communism.”
Funny, if anyone is living off the backs of those who fought, it’s Jones and his ilk, who spend their time scaring those very people so that they will support the vitriol spewed. Jones has never served in the military, never fought Nazism or communism himself. But he makes his living off of those who did by feeding them conspiracy theories and “false flag” events. Despicable. But he deflects his self-loathing at us:
You need to have your jaws broken. But don’t you worry, reality is going to crash in on you trash who lowered our defenses, who brought the republic down. Oh, we’re already gone and you celebrate it like you’ve joined the globalists, mounting America’s head on the wall, your great victory.
If anyone has brought the republic down, it is people like Jones. Bottom-feeders who blame others — in this case, liberals — for the country’s ills. Yet we are “chumps” and “buffoons?” We’re the “schmucks?” Jones then invokes the ultimate dehumanization: liberals will “burn in the camps.” Well, aren’t you just a fun-filled little lollipop triple-dipped in psycho?
This rhetoric is nothing new, certainly not for Jones. His brand of paranoid fantasy sells well, especially now. Like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump, Jones feeds the emotionally unstable in our society exactly what they want to hear. He is a sounding board for their paranoia and fear. And, right now, these wretches are scared of Bernie Sanders and, to a lesser extent, Hillary Clinton.
When another Democrat takes the oath of office next January, who knows how they will react? But we can be sure that Alex Jones will be reflecting that reaction back to them. Ignorance and fear are so easy to exploit.
Just listen to the nastiness with which Jones spits his venom in this clip from Right Wing Watch:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KqtoQXbctU&w=640&h=360]
