George W. Bush Just Unloaded On Trump’s Deeply Disturbing Behavior During A Rare Interview (VIDEO)

Since he left office in 2008, President George W. Bush has rarely sat for interviews, but perhaps he realizes that his voice is needed today more than ever in order to help bring Donald Trump and the Republican Party back down to reality.

This morning, the 43rd president sat down with Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today and spoke about the divisive direction that American politics has taken since Trump took office in January. The two discussed many subjects and while Bush seemed hesitant at times to criticize Trump and even said that he thinks we have to take Trump “for his word that he wants to unify the country,” he was not at all shy about voicing his views about the role that the media plays in our democracy. Bush told Lauer:

“I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy. We need an independent media to hold people like me to account. Power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive and it’s important for the media to call people to account who abuse their power.”

The two also discussed the ties that our current government seems to have with Russia as well as the Muslim ban. Watch their discussion below. We hope Trump is watching as well:
