Ted Cruz, the Jesus-loving GOP candidate who female college classmates have repeatedly described as “creepy,” just had to pull a campaign ad because it featured a softcore adult film star. (Go ahead and laugh, I’ll wait.)
The 30-seconds of FAIL, which launched on Thursday, was titled “Conservatives Anonymous.” The ad is set in a group therapy session, with distraught conservative voters airing their grievances about being duped by Marco Rubio. (As a side-note, I wholeheartedly support the idea of intensive therapy for right-wingers. Anyway, moving on.)
“Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” says a woman in the group to one of her comrades.
This woman, starlet of Cruz’s campaign ad, turns out to have been played by adult film actress Amy Lindsay.
Lindsay has demonstrated her Republican family values as the star of such renowned skin flicks as Animal Lust, Co-Ed Confidential, Erotic Confessions, Secrets of a Chambermaid, Insatiable Desires, and Carnal Wishes.
The companion website to the video of Cruz’s hilarious calamity was still active as of 11 p.m. Thursday, but the video, via YouTube, “has been removed by the user.”
Rick Tyler, communications director, issued a statement explaining how it was totally not their fault that they hired a softcore film star for their campaign ad, and assured all the Evangelical Christians that Cruz has spent so much time pandering to that, they surely wouldn’t have hired the evil sex vixen if they had been at all aware of her lascivious adult movie history. (At least not for a campaign ad, but I digress.)
The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial.
For the record, Lindsay should apparently seek psychological treatment of some sort herself because she says she is trying to decide who to vote for, Trump or Cruz.
