Two Trump-Supporting Republicans Express Shock Their Own Voters Are Trump-Loving Nazis

Last night the city of Charlottesville was besieged by Trump-supporting Nazis in an appalling display of hatred and violence. Reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan, racist ‘Alt-right’ protesters carried torches and marched late Friday through the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Virginia – an action which appalled the city. While we’re still waiting for Donald Trump to denounce his own supporters’ actions, at least two Republicans have stepped up to express their shock and dismay at their own voters’ actions.

House Speaker Paul Ryan tweeted, “The views fueling the spectacle in Charlottesville are repugnant. Let it only serve to unite Americans against this kind of vile bigotry.”

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) wrote on Twitter, “Their tiki torches may be fueled by citronella but their ideas are fueled by hate, & have no place in civil society.”

The anti-immigrant, anti-gay, anti-black protesters have been emboldened by Donald Trump and the GOP by extension.

Democrats weighed in. Sen. Patrick Leahy shamed Trump over his silence on the matter.

Sen. Chuck Schumer called on Trump to condemn the protesters.

Sen. Dick Durbin:

Sen. Jack Reed:

We’re not sure why the two Republican leaders are shocked by this display of hatred, after all, every white supremacist group across the board back Donald Trump’s campaign.

We’re waiting for Trump to strongly condemn the spectacle America witnessed last night. Hello, are you there, Mr. Trump?
