Much like Donald Trump’s first year of presidency, it looks like the beginning of 2018 is going to be just as dark and disastrous. Trump took office without knowing a damn thing about how this country worked, or what his role as President of the United States would be like – and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like much has changed since then.
Trump’s first year in the White House was marked by several humiliating failures, minimal legislative accomplishments, and record-breaking lows in approval ratings. However, despite all of these horrific blunders, Trump continued to brag about how he was “winning” throughout the entire year, and those falsehoods have been echoed by his entire team.
Top White House officials are currently telling people that they “anticipate 2018 will be a legislative and accomplishments grind,” according to Axios. However, they have very little knowledge of how they’re going to get there, or what that actually means.
One White House official has been quoted, stating:
It’s tough to look out on the horizon and see another sure or easy victory.”
To make matters worse for the Trump administration, Axios noted that Trump will face several more challenges soon:
Complicating matters, President Trump faces a wave of staff departures, with thin pickings for replacements.”
So basically, Trump and his White House are going into 2018 just as blind as they went into 2017, and with an even less stable team than the shaky one they started with. There is no real direction, and not one competent person in office who is capable of driving this train wreck.
To make things even worse for Trump and his failing presidency, White House officials are already worried about the very “realistic prospects of losing their congressional majorities” in the 2018 midterm elections. Axios explained:
Most people ignore midterm elections and don’t bother voting. Next year feels different: The Trump show has grabbed a sustained audience and Democrats, especially women, want it canceled ASAP. This will further galvanize Democrats and polarize the two parties.”
Trump and his team have no clue what they’re doing, or how they’re going to prevail in the upcoming year. Hopefully, Americans will vote blue in the midterms so we can start getting this country back on track before Trump’s horrific ‘leadership’ humiliates us further.
