Trump Launches ‘Trump TV’ – Labels It ‘Real News’

President Trump now has his own television news program and he’s calling it “the real news.”

Here’s what we know – Trump TV is being set up as a ‘newscast’ using people who have been already been journalists and analysts for the conventional news media. That appears to be intentional to make it appear that it’s actual news.

This is President Trump’s way of trying to replace the news. He’s using his large following on social media and leveraging that support to report on ‘what’s actually happening in the Trump administration.’

Some are even comparing it to state-propaganda media outlets like those used by communist North Korea leader Kim Jong-un. That’s exactly what it is, frankly.

No American president has even done this before. Tweeting is one thing, but designing a program that’s similar in nature to something seen on CNN or Fox News has the potential to be very misleading.

Trump just hired Kayleigh McEnany, a former CNN journalist, and she appeared in a recent broadcast touting economic numbers favorable to the president. She also praised the proposed Raise Act and highlighted a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House earlier in the week.

“Thank you for joining us, everybody. I’m Kayleigh McEnany, and that’s the real news,” McEnany said to end the segment.

Trump should be allowed to drum up support from his base, but it’s not ‘real news’ if it’s not impartial and it’s a direct arm of the government. Trump isn’t just a candidate anymore, he’s the President of the United States. People need to get information they can count on.
