President Trump is livid right now. But, truth be told, when is he not?
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to questions on Wednesday regarding the alleged affair between Trump and former porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump didn’t like how she handled things while speaking to reporters, where she admitted that Trump won an arbitration case against her, making it the first time the White House has acknowledged that Trump was a party to the suit.
Regardless, Trump is “very unhappy,” said a source close to the White House. He reportedly said: “Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday.”
And, she did.
Speaking of which, that arbitration case was filed by Trump’s attorney and neither Daniels nor her attorney were given notice to show up in court. They won by default. But, the real issue is, not if the contract is valid or not, but whether Stormy Daniels is telling the truth about their affair. Trump has dismissed it as mere rumor, but latest indications show that it is anything but that.
It must be noted, CNN ran the story saying a source said he was unhappy, but then Fox News reported that Trump being unhappy with Sanders was “patently false.” So, there’s that.
Besides Sanders admitting Trump was involved, she also stated during the press conference that he was innocent.
“Look, the president has addressed these directly and made very well clear that none of these allegations are true,” Sanders said. “This case has already been won in arbitration. And anything beyond that, I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel.”
If Trump is innocent then he won’t mind Stormy Daniels releasing pics and texts that she says she has in her possession. But, Trump’s attorney is seeking a court order to keep her from doing that.
One big point being made by Stormy Daniel’s attorney is that it is highly improbable, if not an outright lie, for him to say that he had no idea that his attorney paid off Daniels just days before the 2016 election.
“The idea that somehow President Trump didn’t know anything about this and that Attorney Cohen was just running off and doing what he thought was best without any consultation with President Trump, it is patently absurd,” Michael Avenatti, the attorney for Stephanie Clifford, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday night.
Also – this might not be a case about a simple affair. The language in the non-disclosure agreement Stormy Daniels signed said she would also have to keep quiet about “paternity information.” That one phrase is bound to set alarm bells off in the Republican Party with another election coming up if it is found out that Trump got her pregnant and then she had an abortion. The only other possibility would be that she had a kid with Trump and hid it from the world, but that’s extremely unlikely.
Don’t expect this one to go away anytime soon.
