Donald Trump bragged that his Inauguration Day ceremony would see “unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout.” He was hilariously wrong.
When President Obama was sworn in for the first time in 2009, 1.8 million Americans flocked to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to witness history in below freezing temperatures. Even in 2013, President Obama still managed to attract 1 million people to his second swearing-in ceremony.
And President Obama’s record-setting crowd in 2009 is still the record as Donald Trump failed to draw a crowd that was even close to being the same size or bigger.

While Obama’s inauguration was filled to capacity, Trump’s was clearly one of the most avoided events in American history.

In fact, even the Metro service in Washington DC tweeted out a comparison of ridership on Obama’s inauguration compared to Trump’s.
Metro Ridership: As of 11am, 193k trips taken so far today. (11am 1/20/13 = 317k, 11am 1/20/09 = 513k, 11am 1/20/05 = 197k) #wmata

And that led to this awesome response.
@wmata I didn’t even know Metro had a burn unit

Trump’s inauguration crowd was so embarrassing that he used a photo of Obama’s crowd on Twitter instead of one of his own.

In all seriousness though, Trump is pathetic and he will be a disaster for our nation. Let’s hopes our nation survives long enough to fix the mess Trump creates.
