The Wall Street Journal Is Finally Sick And Tired Of Trump, Tells World About It In Scathing Editorial

Despite leaning conservative, the Wall Street Journal has finally had enough of Donald Trump and his scandals.

For months, Trump has repeatedly lied about his campaign’s ties to Russia during the 2016 Election.

And every time he thinks the lie was enough to kill the investigation, new information comes to light or Trump takes an action that makes it clear he has something he wants to hide.

Last week, Trump’s idiot son Trump, Jr. released emails showing that he colluded with the Russians, along with Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort. The meeting with a Kremlin-linked Russian lawyer, a former Soviet intelligence officer, and possibly even Trump himself occurred in Trump Tower in June 2016. Days later, Trump urged Russian hackers to attack Hillary Clinton and the DNC.

Trump and his team have since tried to use every excuse in the book to justify the meeting, including claims that the meeting was about adoption or that it’s just normal politics. It’s not. It’s treason.

Just after releasing the damning emails, Trump Jr. claimed that they included “everything” on his meetings with Russians. But again, it turns out more than just the Russian lawyer attended this meeting, meaning Trump Jr. lied to Sean Hannity’s face.

On Fox News Monday, judicial analyst and Trump friend Andrew Napolitano broke ranks with his employer and called for a criminal investigation into Trump Jr’s meeting, signaling that conservatives may be finally waking up and realizing that Trump has been duping them all along.

Nothing confirmed that more than a Wall Street Journal editorial on the same day.

The Editorial Board wrote a scathing piece condemning Trump’s lies about Russia.

“Even Donald Trump might agree that a major reason he won the 2016 election is because voters couldn’t abide Hillary Clinton’s legacy of scandal, deception and stonewalling,” the editorial began. “Yet on the story of Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, Mr. Trump and his family are repeating the mistakes that doomed Mrs. Clinton.”

“Even if the ultimate truth of this tale is merely that Don Jr. is a political dunce who took a meeting that went nowhere—the best case—the Trumps made it appear as if they have something to hide,” the Journal continued. “They have created the appearance of a conspiracy that on the evidence Don Jr. lacks the wit to concoct.”

And that’s putting it lightly. Russian meddling in the 2016 Election also helped Trump win, and it’s clear the Trump family does have something to hide.

The Wall Street Journal then dropped the hammer, reminding Trump that investigations are ongoing in the House and Senate, and a special investigation headed up by Robert Mueller continues to pick up steam.

Don’t you get it, guys? Special counsel Robert Mueller and the House and Senate intelligence committees are investigating the Russia story. Everything that is potentially damaging to the Trumps will come out, one way or another. Everything. Denouncing leaks as “fake news” won’t wash as a counter-strategy beyond the President’s base, as Mr. Trump’s latest 36% approval rating shows.

And that even means Trump’s tax returns, a massive set of documents that Trump has been desperately trying to hide since long before he became the Republican nominee.

That means every meeting with any Russian or any American with Russian business ties. Every phone call or email. And every Trump business relationship with Russians going back years. This should include every relevant part of Mr. Trump’s tax returns, which the President will resist but Mr. Mueller is sure to seek anyway.

In conclusion, the Journal told Trump to stop lying and start coming clean before the Russia scandal destroys him.

Mr. Trump somehow seems to believe that his outsize personality and social-media following make him larger than the Presidency. He’s wrong. He and his family seem oblivious to the brutal realities of Washington politics. Those realities will destroy Mr. Trump, his family and their business reputation unless they change their strategy toward the Russia probe. They don’t have much more time to do it.

It’s nice to see the Wall Street Journal calling Trump out. The problem is that they are assuming Trump coming clean will help him avoid impeachment and help the Republican Party avoid embarrassment. It won’t.

We’ve likely only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the full extent of Trump’s connections with Russia. There’s a reason why these meetings were held in secret and there’s a reason why Trump has not released his tax returns. And there’s a reason why Trump and his team continue to lie and make every excuse they can think of to try and make this go away. There is a reason why Trump fired James Comey, just like there will be a reason why Trump fires Robert Mueller in an effort to keep him and his investigation from getting closer.

And that reason for doing all of these things is that the Trumps are hiding something so unbelievably scandalous that it will make the Watergate scandal look pathetic. This is a conspiracy so massive that even Trump, his family, and his entire team can’t cover it up. It will rock this nation to our very core. Our constitutional and democratic principles will be shaken. The only question is what will Republicans do when the truth is fully revealed?
