As disgusting and unbelievable as this sounds, it’s actually true.
On June 27th, ADAPT — a group of disabled people fighting for their rights — began a sit-in at Colorado Republican Senator Cory Gardner’s office to protest the horrific Trumpcare bill. As of this evening, two days later, at least a dozen of those people, either confined to wheelchairs or lying on the floor of Gardner’s office, have been arrested. Yes. Arrested.
Protesters were live streaming their own arrests and chanting, “Senator Gardner, shame on you!” while they were dragged away by police.

The protest began peacefully on Tuesday, with nine people seeking an audience with the Senator, but after their requests weren’t granted, the news spread and more people showed up in support of their fellow citizens, bringing food and blankets in preparation for spending a few nights. By Wednesday night, seventeen people were hunkered down in Gardner’s office.

Gardner’s office has of course been extremely hospitable. (Insert eye roll here.)
According to the Denver Post:
The top priority throughout this protest has been allowing these individuals to exercise their First Amendment rights in a safe environment,” Casey Contres, a Gardner spokesman, said in a statement after the arrests began. “In order to allow this, staff have slept in the office for two nights and assisted and aided these individuals with several matters to ensure they were comfortable and safe. Earlier this evening, Denver police asked the individuals to leave. When they declined to leave the police were forced to remove them due to several factors, including serious concerns for their health and safety.”
Sure. They are concerned for their “health and safety” while they drag them away to jail without their medical needs being taken into consideration.
Carrie Ann Lucas, one of the protesters inside the office, was live streaming constantly and said:
We’re not going to go down without a fight.”

I don’t know what planet you live on, but where I’m from — shit like this should NEVER happen to people. To be arrested, just for asking for what should be theirs without question, is unfathomable to me.
Many, if not all, of the people you just watched in the above videos will likely die under Trumpcare.
Let that sink in.
