By now, you would think Republicans would have gotten the bigger picture when it comes to Donald Trump. The man has belittled his whole GOP gang in an angry tweet rant. What do you really think he’ll do for you? Forget all the friction between Liberals and Conservatives. Trump can’t be trusted and he doesn’t have a concrete plan that includes building his own party up.
But even with Trump feeding his klan to the twitter wolves, this latest poll shows that more than half of Republicans are still willing to back him and his nonsense. According to a poll conducted by The Washington Post, Republicans said they would back a postponement of the next election if Trump called for it.
The two question asked on the survey were:
- If Donald Trump were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote, would you support or oppose postponing the election?
- What if both Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote? Would you support or oppose postponing the election?
If Trump and congressional Republicans proposed postponing the election to ensure only eligible citizens could vote, support from Republicans rises to 56 percent.
What exactly does an ‘eligible citizen’ look like? Because if we are basing it on Trump’s point system (that he wouldn’t even be able to pass), most of these Republicans probably would be the ones on the other end of the stick. You know, the injustice side.
