‘It’s What We’ve All Been Dreading’: The White House Scrambles Over Trump Son’s Email Scandal

Donald Trump Jr. put White House officials in panic mode after he tweeted out damning copies of an email chain of a discussion about an upcoming meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer in order to obtain dirt on Hillary Clinton.

The Daily Beast reached out to White House staffers on Tuesday to get a response on Don Jr’s email tweets, but each individual immediately referred questions to Junior’s legal and public-relations team, and emphasized that Trump’s son is not a federal employee.

But aides weighed in, saying, “This is sum of all fears stuff. It’s what we’ve all been dreading.”  That official said he might retain a lawyer.

It’s not just Junior who is in hot water. Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and Paul Manafort, the alleged president’s former campaign manager, were also at the meeting.

The Daily Beast reports:

The series of revelations surrounding Trump Jr.’s communications with Russian officials have damaged his standing within the president’s political inner circle. As The Daily Beast reported on Sunday, opinion of Trump’s eldest son among some of Trump’s senior aides, both past and present, is vanishingly low. Since the campaign, a popular, behind-his-back nickname for Trump Jr. among these advisers has been “Fredo,” referring to Fredo Corleone, the insecure and weak failure of a son in The Godfather series who ends up causing major damage to the family.

A senior White House official and a former top Trump campaign aide both described Junior as an “idiot.”

We’re wondering what names Trump is using to describe his son right now. About the only thing Trump has said in regards to the new revelations is that he’s ‘frustrated’ that this is still an issue.

Trump added, “My son is a high-quality person and I applaud his transparency.”

Here is Junior in 2016 lying his ass off:

Trump has not tweeted in 9 hours since the newest scandal broke. We’re picturing his lawyers holding his tiny hands down, yelling, “Do not tweet. For the sake of all that is good and holy, DO NOT TWEET!”
