In a move that will undoubtedly send Donald Trump into yet another rage on Twitter, the legendary Ellen DeGeneres just declared she wants the *president nowhere near her daytime talk show.
Ellen just sat down with ‘TODAY’s’ Matt Lauer and when he asked her what her relationship was with Trump she said she once did a bit with him surrounding ‘The Apprentice’ but that’s about it. In regards to if she would ever have Trump on her show, Ellen responded:
Which got wild applause from her studio audience.
When Lauer pressed her on the subject, asking:
“Why wouldn’t someone like you want to sit down opposite the president of the United States?”
“Because I’m not going to change his mind. He’s against everything that I stand for.”
“We need to look at someone else who looks different from us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and let them have their rights.”
And she’s exactly right. Trump’s myopic and often xenophobic views show that he’s a president to his voters, not the American people as a whole.
Good for Ellen for being brutally honest and saying that she wants Trump nowhere near her show. That’s her right, which will undoubtedly piss Trump off, but I really doubt she cares in the slightest.
