For many years, people watched Donald Trump tell countless people on his NBC reality show The Apprentice, “You’re FIRED!” It became his hallmark, his claim to reality show fame, if you will. However, now that is time to really fire people — from the White House, no less — it turns out that Trump has absolutely no courage. In fact, every single ouster that we have seen from this White House has been orchestrated by someone other than Trump himself.
Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci, who lasted only 11 days as White House Communications Director, was seemingly brought in to get rid of former Press Secretary Sean Spicer and former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. Also, General John Kelly, who is the current Chief of Staff, got rid of reality show drama queen Omarosa Manigault (nobody is really sure what Omarosa did in the White House. She’s back on reality television now, spilling the goods on Trump). Now, it seems that Trump wants to fire two very consequential people, but, once again, doesn’t have the stones to do it: His own daughter, Ivanka, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Now, it could be argued that Jared and Ivanka should never have been in the White House in the first place. They are not qualified to be there (then again, neither is Trump himself), and their appointments broke about a million ethics and nepotism rules into pieces. Now, however, as the scandals around this White House mount and they reach Jared and Ivanka and their shady business dealings, it seems that Trump wants them gone. He will, once again, rely on John Kelly to accomplish this task.
This comes amid reports that Kushner is compromised, and that he is able to be manipulated by foreign countries due to his debts and business dealings. Of course, Jared and Ivanka view themselves as invincible, despite the fact that John Kelly has revoked Jared’s security clearance, and he and Ivanka are basically nothing more than dead weight and a distraction at this point.
Well, their departure is long overdue, and if Trump can’t bring himself to fire his children, his Chief of Staff better be able to do so instead.
