Jeb Bush, a man who suffers from a chronic case of POTUS envy, has been stumbling along the campaign trail ever since he announced his bid for the presidency last June. Through this election cycle Jeb has run an unenthusiastic campaign that has been the target of much ridicule and criticism from conservatives and liberals alike.
From attacks by Donald Trump, tagging him “The Low Energy Candidate,” to his cringe worthy attempt at humor as he tried his hand at selfie performance art during one of his rallies, Jeb Bush has proven time and time again that he is a man who really doesn’t want to run for president.
On Thursday in Derry, New Hampshire, Jeb showed the world that he has a campaign only a mother could love, as former First Lady Barbara Bush finally came to the aid of her dimwitted son. During the rally Mrs. Bush proudly declared,
I didn’t really plan on this, but Jeb is the nicest, wisest, most caring, loyal, disciplined… He’s everything we need in a president.
I’m sorry, but is Jeb running for the highest office in the land? Or for Grand Poobah of the local Moose Lodge?
At another rally on Saturday, things got even more awkward as Jeb addressed his mother in the crowd and hit her with a poorly crafted joke saying,
I jokingly say, that when we were growing up in Midland and Houston that Mom was fortunate not to have a child abuse hotline available, because the discipline of learning right and wrong was her doing
As Barbara Bush shows up more and more along the campaign trail to try to bolster Jeb’s popularity, I can’t help but get an image of a young Jeb Bush who was picked last for kickball and went running home to his mommy for support. Instead of showering her son with complements along the campaign trail, let’s hope Barbara Bush will give Jeb some much needed motherly advice and ask her son to drop out of the race while he still has a shred of dignity left.
