A top Trump campaign operative just did the unthinkable. She defected from Donald’s camp because she had enough of him lying to America and his supporters. Calling his entire campaign a fraud and a lie, she penned an absolutely scathing open letter that was then released to the internet in an effort to warn the nation just what kind of person he is, and how dangerous it would be to vote for him.
Stephanie Cegielski officially resigned after Trump laid down the final straw when he sent out an absolutely mind-numbing Tweet after a terrorist attack in Pakistan.
Another radical Islamic attack, this time in Pakistan, targeting Christian women & children. At least 67 dead,400 injured. I alone can solve
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 27, 2016
Stephanie couldn’t believe her eyes. The latest news reports already had the numbers listed differently. There was no fact checking involved. Then came the end of the message I alone can solve. She likened it to a child pretending he has super powers and only he can save the day.
It wasn’t just this that caused Stephanie to revolt. The fact that this is was the result of a presidential campaign that never was intended to win is what caused it.
No, that is not an exaggeration. Stephanie said it clearly in her letter: Trump never intended to be the front runner.
His campaign was intended to be something of a vanity project for himself. He didn’t plan ahead. He had no long game. He literally had no idea how to be president and he KNEW this going in. The expectation was that he would finish around second, or third place and present himself as a foil against the Republican establishment. The campaign was literally never intended to be successful! Trump did not actually want to be president until it was apparent he could be. Then he decided “eh, why not?”
Stephanie admits that almost everybody underestimated the seething and infinite rage that was lurking just beneath the skin of the Republican party. Nobody took Trump seriously until he started winning. Then instead of shutting him down, they simultaneously copied him while attacking what they copied. That’s when Trump’s ego took over.
As Stephanie said it so well:
He certainly was never prepared or equipped to go all the way to the White House, but his ego has now taken over the driver’s seat, and nothing else matters. The Donald does not fail. The Donald does not have any weakness. The Donald is his own biggest enemy.
And there is the scariest part of all. We have a totally unprepared individual who is an ego on wheels rolling directly towards the White House and the greatest position of power and responsibility in the entire world. We are at a point now where even if Trump knew he shouldn’t be president he won’t allow himself NOT to be president, just because he doesn’t want to look like a failure.
You can read Stephanie’s letter in its entirety HERE if you choose to do so. The thought of Trump just went from scary to downright terrifying because now we know what we’ve been feeling about him all this time.
Republicans, you got played by Donald Trump. You created this mess. Now, what are you going to do about it?
