In an act of marketing brilliance, President Obama appears in a new video from BuzzFeed titled “Things Everyone Does But Doesn’t Talk About” to serve as a reminder of the upcoming healthcare.gov deadline which is February 15. Obviously, the video targets millennials, as data shows they are less likely to enroll in health insurance. Their enrollment is critical to maintain the affordability of the Affordable Care Act.
However, the lighthearted (and relevant) video has triggered quite the firestorm of comments with Fox & Friends viewers, who are not quite as lighthearted or relevant. Apparently, the big take away – THE MIRROR WAS DIRTY!
However, some commenters had even more important things that concerned them, like the President’s “dark spirit.” I’m not sure if this guy watched the same video the rest of us saw – but apparently there was evil within. Who knew?
This viewer felt the need to provide a psychological evaluation of the POTUS.
But not to worry, Fox viewers haven’t gone astray! There was plenty of the same rhetoric in the comments, including the trite accusation that President Obama is a Muslim.
And of course, God. What about God?!?!?!?!?!
This guy, though . . . Now this is proof that this guy was NOT included in the target demographic of this video. He clearly is unaware of the humorous (now dated) #ThanksObama internet trend and is convinced that he has figured out the deeper meaning of the cookies and milk scene.
You just can’t pull a fast one by this guy.
Considering the Fox News audience has a median age of 65+, it shouldn’t be too shocking that a video meant to encourage the youth of our country to enroll in Obamacare would be lost on the aging crowd. However, the proof is in the numbers. Last year’s campaign, which included the viral Funny or Die “Between Two Ferns” video, provided a significant “Galifianakis bump” in enrollments.
Let’s hope the same can be said for the latest BuzzFeed video, included below.
