Police have been in the news a lot lately, in many cases for things showing them abusing power, or overreacting to situations. Just like the rest of us, cops are human beings. There are good cops, bad cops, serious cops, and cops who like to have fun.
The police officer in this video appears to fall in the latter category.
The Dover Police Department in Delaware posted a video on YouTube, showing one of their officers, apparently enjoying his music while on patrol. The video has gone viral, and has garnered a lot of positive attention for the department, including, according to Delaware Online, from Good Morning America.
The video opens with this announcement:
While reviewing dashcam footage, we come across some interesting sights to say the least. We decided we would share some with you in a new web series called “Dash Cam Confessionals.” We hope you enjoy this…and Taylor Swift, if you’re watching…we’re sorry.
What follows is about four minutes of an unnamed Dover police officer, on patrol in his cruiser, singing, and even sometimes doing a little “dancing” of sorts to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”
Perhaps the most hilarious parts of the video occur when the officer sees citizens observing him, at which time he puts on his “cop” face, nodding or waving to the person. But, as soon as he’s on the move again, he’s, well, on the move again.
If this doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will!
