The NRA’s Response To Lawmakers’ Gun Safety Proposal Should Be Investigated As Criminal (IMAGE)

New York State Sen. Roxanne Persaud and Assemblywoman Jo Anne Simon, both Democrats from Brooklyn, recently announced legislation strictly limiting the number of bullets any gun owner could buy over a 90-day period and prohibit gun dealers from selling ammunition to anyone prohibited from owning a firearm.

The NRA has, of course,  found issues with the measure because it doesn’t allow for the unrestricted sale of guns and ammo to anyone at any time for any reason or no reason at all. In response to the bill, the NRA’s propaganda rag, America’s First Freedom, tweeted this:

First of all, one of the most ridiculous gun schemes? The amount of ammunition a person can buy shouldn’t surpass the amount they could possibly fire at a range or while hunting. Even if it were, surely the second portion of the bill, not allowing ammo to be sold to people who are forbidden from owning a gun makes sense.

Nope. Not to the NRA. To the NRA, every bullet is a profit. The manufacturers who keep their coffers stuffed demand that criminals and terrorists not be discriminated against when it comes to the bottom line.

Second, the placement of those pictures with tape and the bullets surrounding their faces is nothing other than a scare tactic. The NRA wants the ammosexuals of New York to consider these women their enemy, and to put them out there in such a suggestive way is a travesty and should be investigated as a threat to their safety.

According to The Raw Story:

Persaud and Simon, as well as New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, condemned the image as a veiled threat that had “the potential to cause harm.”

“I think it is irresponsible in the times that we are living in to place a target around someone,” Persaud told the Daily News. “By placing someone’s picture with bullets next to them, you are playing on the fears of people.”

Simon said she saw the graphic as an attempt to incite NRA supporters and intimidate lawmakers who back gun control measures.

Both lawmakers said they had received threatening messages since proposing the legislation on Dec. 20.

The NRA knows exactly what they’re doing. They’re nothing but bullies fighting for the rights of other bullies to be assholes. These women are doing their best to secure a future for their city, state and children. To subject them to this kind of stupidity for doing their jobs is ludicrous.
