Koch-Backed Rohrabacher To Investigate NASA Regarding Fudging Climate Data

In January of 2015, after Democrats decided that they didn’t need to back their President (or the best interests of the beings that occupy this planet) and sat out the 2014 midterm elections, science and climate denier Lamar Smith — the Republican Chairman on Science, Space and Technology — announced that Dana Rohrabacher, former speechwriter for Reagan and fellow science and climate denier extraordinaire, was appointed as Vice Chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.

This committee, which is comprised of a long list of Republicans (not one Democrat) that have a history of denying facts and science, has jurisdiction over NASA and other agencies that monitor the Earth’s climate.

These are the same people that brought us 19 hearings on space exploration — 15 of which focused on discovering alien life. During that same time period, these same people held only two hearings on climate change which they believe is a “massive international scientific fraud.”

Now, these very same people that were elected by our fellow Americans, led by Dana Rohrabacher, are spearheading the charge for an investigation into the accusation that NASA has falsified data to show that climate change exists, when it really doesn’t — at least in their delusional minds.

“The Daily Caller” reports:

Rohrabacher has long been critical of the theory of man-made global warming. Lately, the California Republican was criticizing NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for allegedly tampering with temperature data to create an artificial warming trend. Such data is then used to justify regulations aimed at curbing fossil fuel use and other industrial activities.

It’s important to bear in mind that Rohrabacher’s campaign contributors include Exxon Mobil, Koch Industries, Marathon Petroleum, Halliburton and Chevron.  He also feels that “prehistoric climate change could have been caused by dinosaur flatulence,” leading us to ask what his expertise in science and climate change is…  the answer would be: none.

This is not the first time that NASA has been charged with fudging this data. As recently as June, 2014, Fox (surprise, surprise) aired a segment hosted by Steve Doocy suggesting that “NASA scientists fudged the numbers to overstate the extent of global warming.”

Of course this was rated “PANTS ON FIRE” by Politifact, but we need to remind ourselves that Republicans don’t bog themselves down with pesky things like facts.

To see him speak for yourselves, watch this debate between Rohrabacher and Jim Moran on Hardball from 2009…  it’s unbelievable:
